The IT Service Management Forum USA (itSMF-USA) is holding its annual conference, Fusion 08, in San Francisco, California. This conference which will feature more than 100 speakers will present 80 sessions delivering key insights in ITSM best practices, innovative new strategies, and real world results; also features Lisa Schlaf, Econ's own director of process management, presenting on the topic of ISO 20000: Getting Through the Pre-Assessment.
ISO 20000 is the international standard for IT Service Management. Though recognized generically as ISO 20K, the standard officially is named ISO/IEC 20000. ISO is the International Organization for Standardization while IEC is the International Electrotechnical Commission, another standards body.
This presentation will help IT departments understand the requirements, objectives and organizational structures that are needed for ISO 20000 Certification. Ms. Schlaf will explain how Econ Global Services used a "war room" to define scope, create documentation, identify tools and coordinate human resources leading to the initial assessment.
